When the 2nd of 5 relieving chambers that are above the Kings Chamber was accessed, it was said that all who entered were covered in black powder - apparently cast of shells from insects. However, I can't seem to find out what kind of insects they were, why they were only found in this one place and also how old they were.

Has anyone heard anything about this? If so, where did you hear the information? I would prefer to find sources rather than speculation.

Thanks

Mxx

Excellent, let me know if you find out anything - I think it will be mentioned somewhere in the book that I am reading but a) it's slightly unorthodox and b) I'm not that far into it yet! :)

Here's two that might help:
http://fusionanomaly.net/kingschamber.html
http://www.sonic.net/bernard/kings-chamber.html

This one is a virtual pyramid; you can "walk" through it, if it works.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/pyramid/ex ... inghi.html

If none of these helped, then check out

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=U ... gle+Search

And there might be one in there. I just put "king's chamber" so I wouldn't get marine biology stuff. And, I'm sorry I'm in a hurry, dinner time.
See ya!

I surf the internet for a living so have already done a google search for things such as 'kings chamber', 'second chamber' and 'insect shells' and so on and haven't come up with anything yet. I was hoping someone may have read it offline in some sort of reference book.

Thanks anyway

Hmmm... I've never heard anything about that before. I'll look in my books and see what I can find (Yay! Soon my books will actually be by my computer and I won't have to ascend two sets of stairs to get to them!)

2 sets of stairs - geez. Mine are in a bookcase on the other side of the room and it's to far for me to go.

Appreciate you having a look.

As of this point in time I haven't found anything, but I haven't had much time today. I'll make sure I look through the rest of the books by tomorrow.

(Yeah, we live in a 2-story house with a finished basement. I live on the second floor and the computer's in the basement. But I'm saving to get a computer in my room).

I used to have a computer in my room, but then we switched rooms. My brother took my room, my sister and I took my mom and dad's room, and my parents took my brother's room. Then, there was the main computer in my room, and my brother and sister would spend hours on-line typing and listening to music while I was trying to sleep! They'd be at it until 2:00 AM, and they weren't even in college! :x I'm so glad the computer got moved out of my room, because I could never get on anyway, and there was always somebody invading my space!!!

Well, I'm purchasing this with my own money, so my brother and sister can't use it. I really need one for my writing classes and things. I really like to write creative non-fiction short stories abouit the Amarna period and I can't write very fast, but I can type pretty well. It will also be easier for research projects, because I won't have to wait my turn while my brother and sister play games.

So how old are you both? I didn't even think about having to share the PC (selfish old me) as this is the second one I own and I paid for and built it myself. There's three PCs in the house but only two get used (I share with 3 other people in a house in London) and so we set up a router for broadband access between the two.

I also work for an internet company that involves me surfing the web all day so I really have the opposite problem of not getting the chance to go online - I'm on here too much.

I don't tell my age to anybody online, unless I know them personally or unless I've known them online for a loooong time. But, you're free to guess ONCE and I'll tell you if you're right. If not, then you'll just have to wait.

Nah it's okay - and a very wise choice that is too. It was rude of me to ask so let's just let it be.

Back to the topic in hand - the insect shells.

I'm just about through the book I'm currently reading (The Giza Power Plant mentioned in another post) and author Chris Dunn thinks that the powder is basically crushed limestone that's been fried.

I'll explain a little more.

His theory states that the Great Pyramid was a type of power plant that converted the earths energy into usable microwaves through various means that are too long to get into.
At one point something went wrong and there was an explosion in the center of this 'machine' which was the Kings Chamber and this resulted in the south wall being damaged and the granite beams being lifted momentarily out of their slots. The weight of them coming back down would have partly crushed the limestone they were on, resulting in some dust raising into the air. This would then have been burnt by the intense heat created in the explosion and would have come to rest, mostly on top of the beams.
When workers came in to fix the damage (such as placing the plaster of Paris that can be found in the joints) they would have wiped the black calcium carbonate dust from the beams (to ensure the beams kept their correct resonance or something - the book goes on a bit) and it would have settled on the floor - to be found by the guys who went into the pyramid many many years later.

I would still like a more orthodox answer though.

That's a very different perspective. But I agree, you would want an answer that's more believable. I didn't find a THING in my books. Oh, wait. I do have one about the pyramids that I forgot to look in (It was a gift, and it's really wierd, all this stuff about how the entrance of the pyramid points to Bethlehem and stuff like that) But it may have SOMETHING in it of interest. I'll check soon.

Some parts of te book are plausible. Although I'm on the last chapter and he just stated that the energy beam emitted from the Southern shaft and targeted towards Orions belt could in fact have been aimed at a satellite or...wait for it...a spaceship to use the energy.

I'll stick this book in the pile along with Bauval and Hancock then shall I?
