Well telling you everything about her would take a long time so i'll tell you a couple of the facts that you don't always find in a history book. She had two elder sisters. Cleopatra VI who was the daughter of Cleopatra's father Ptolemy Neos Dyonysus (Nicknamed Auletes) and his sister/queen Tryphaena and Berenice who was Aeletes daughter by a concubine. Then ame our Cleopatra VII who was also Auletes daughter by a concubine. She had two younger brothers Ptolemy XIII and XIV and a younger sister called Arsinoe. Both Cleopatra VI and Berencie became queens in their own right, overthrowing their father. Their father managed to regain the throne and when he died he left it to Cleopatra who, in perpetuation of Ptolemaic tradition, married her brother who became her co-ruler.

Another fact that is noth always in the history books is that she didn't just have the one child Ptolemy Caeser XV (Affectionately known as Caesarion) with Caeser, but she had three further children with Mark Anthony. Firstly twins, Cleopatra Selene and Alexander Helios and the youngest was known as Philadelphus although he had a prename to that like his elder brothers and sister, I can't right now remember what it was.

If you want to be a right pedant (smart ass) then you can show up your other class-mates by telling them that Cleopatra VII was (technically) not the last ruler of Egypt. She was briefly succeeded by her son Caesarion, who ruled 'by right' after his mother's suicide.

Caesarion means 'little Caesar,' and the full name of the last ruler (if you want to baffle anyone) was Ptolemy the Fifteenth, Philopator-Philometor Caesar. He was put to death on the order of another Caesar, Caesar Octavius, who feared that Caesarion might usurp his rule later on if he was allowed to age. Octavius' advisors claimed that "it would be unwise to have too many Caesars," and so he was put to death upon his capture, just after the Summer of 30BC (so I believe).

Caesarion became the tragic subject of this poem by Cavafy:
