Recently I purchased a replica of an Egyptian statue showing a cat (possibly Bastet) with a cobra between its paws. There is an inscription at its base. I know nothing about Egyptian language or translation of hieroglyphics, but I know it probably isn't as simple as posting a picture on a forum and getting someone to look at it. Still, any kind of insight would be appreciated. I don't expect an exact translation, but any words someone can recognize, or get a general meaning would be great
It doesn't help that I don't know the exact dating. The author of the replica labeled it as being from 17th century BC. But the current owner of the original statue claims it to be from Ptolemaic period.
