Sennefer's tomb (TT96) was located the west bank of ancient Waset (Thebes), or what is now known as the Sheikh Abd el-Qurna area of the west bank of modern Luxor. This hill was named for a mythical Muslim sheikh, and has 146 numbered tombs, most of which are from the 18th Dynasty. Some of the most beautiful private tombs on the West Bank can be found here..
