in my novel i've arose to a problem writers block you know. well one of my characters is in love with another. he is 20 and she is 13. my sister says its disgusting but she dose not under stand that girls as young as 12 marrid men as old as 70. anyways. im not sure what should happend between them. i maen he likes her and all but she has a childish spirit so its hard for him to see her as a woman. not to mention a wife. what should i do?

Well, seeing as todays audience will mainly find it disgusting as your sister did, you .. might want to up her age a few years. Not necessarily needed, but a thought.

Now, as per her childish spirit, does it contrast the other character? Is he more down to Earth, more mature? It might be a good underlining for the old phrase 'opposites attract'; however, while Egyptians married, they also had more than one spouse. I don't know if it was monogomous, if there was divorce, or if they simply moved away from each other, or what really.

I also don't know how exactly they were married. Was it love? Was it purchase? The best person I know to refer you to would be Nicole Hanson at GlyphDoctors , as she has studied the prospect a little more in depth than my just going off of what I learn from the Beeb and books. Now, as for if it's 'too young', you need to worry about the audience here. Are you aiming for whoever has a bit of an interest in Egypt? Do you want to target an audience who has some background in the field, and would know of the times? Moreover, realize that while marrying someone in youth is frowned upon in our Western culture, it is more frequent in Eastern and Islandic (I wonder if that's the word...) cultures (e.g. Russia's marriage limit is 14).

For ideas, here's what I have off of the top of my head without knowing much of the background of the book: The man can't afford the wife - The two realize their differences and wait until she gets older (perhaps tie in the man 'cheating' on the girl) - The two fit perfectly dispite their differences and live happily - Someone dies.

i've been writi ng for a while but have yet to publish. one book is done but i have to re whrit it on the computer as for this one the sceans around me have kept changing while i remaind still. so i have not had much time to work on it but now i do. soon i hope real soon. i also have songs and poems that i want to publish so woo. it is not easy being thee. but look foward to it. oh and when i get it patend i will give you a sneek peek

wow ide love that! i write poems too but not publishable ones but i do put them on this site where people comment on them.. they like them! i wish i could write but my mind is soo unamaganitive! at times anyways ide get bored and my story or wat i have of it would be like 3 paragraphs long! soo bad! no wonder i have bad english scores!well good luck again tata

I love writing. The longest story I have written was 150 pages long on Microsoft Word, and I have won contests. I haven't attempted getting my stories published yet, but I will, and I have also had poems published in newspapers (and a poetry anthology "by kids for kids" in 5th grade lol). so good luck with your story, ankhesenamun 3s.

On the subject of writing, I have tried writing novel types of literature, but to be honest, I really don't have the patience! I too have won awards for writing, it's an awesome feeling to be congratulated for your work. Really, I do well writing speeches ..er.. speaches (I seem to have forgotten how to spell!!!). I wrote my great-grandfather's last few spee/aches when he was mayor of Bannock County, PA; one of which he got a standing ovation for; but really, it was his fantastic deliverance. He was the closest thing to a father I have ever known, and I am proud to have served him well...
