Hi Everyone,
I am not sure if this is the right forum, please advise.
I have been handed a family heir loom that belonged to my grandfather. I believe that it came from either a brother of his or a long lost uncle. The story is that a distant relative was involved in excavating sites in Egypt earlier in the last century and he bought this item at an auction.
It is marked as a Rams Head amulet from the Hylton Young collection.
The British museum have said:
I assume that the Hylton Young associated with your amulet may be the one discussed at the link below, given his interests and associates. We have no further information about his collection. His interests seem to have been more in the modern art world, so antiquities probably only made up a small portion of whatever collection he had.
Any help would be gratefully received.
